Privacy policy
Dr. Quackers · last updated 28 October 2026
The duck is rude, but it isn't nosy. Here's exactly what happens to your data when you use Dr. Quackers (the website at duck-with-no-fucks.netlify.app and its installed app).
What you type
- To write a reply, your message is sent to xAI's Grok API, along with the duck's last few replies so it doesn't repeat itself. xAI handles it under xAI's privacy policy.
- We don't store your messages, and the duck doesn't remember them between messages. Close the page and the conversation is gone.
- Messages that mention self-harm, abuse or a crisis are never sent to the AI; the page answers those itself with helpline information.
- Please don't type real names, addresses, passwords or anything else you wouldn't say to a stranger's duck.
Anonymous usage counts
- We count things like visits, messages sent, roasts shared and app installs, as daily totals.
- With each visit we record only your device type (phone or desktop) and country, worked out by our host from your connection. We don't store IP addresses, message text or anything that identifies you.
- No cookies, no ads, no tracking across other sites, and nothing is sold or shared.
Stored on your device
- Your browser remembers whether this visit has been counted and which coffee pop-up line you last saw, so you don't get the same one twice.
- The installed app saves the page's files so it can open offline. Clearing site data or uninstalling the app removes all of this.
Service providers
- Netlify hosts the site and stores the anonymous counts.
- xAI writes the duck's replies.
- Google Fonts serves the fonts.
- Ko-fi handles coffee tips, only if you choose to tap that link.
Age
Dr. Quackers is for adults (18+). It swears and isn't meant for children, and we don't knowingly collect anything from anyone under 18.
Not therapy
This is a joke, not a health service. If you're struggling, please talk to a real person: call or text 988 (US & Canada), call Samaritans on 116 123 (UK & Ireland), or visit findahelpline.com.
